Facility Operations

Job Description

  • Participate in the resolution of employee complaints and grievances.
  • Interview, select and train custodial staff., to their assigned areas as well as coverage areas.
  • Plan, assign and review the work of staff, have a plan outlined for staff for coverage of buildings due to absences and vacations.
  • Develop methods and procedures for assigned areas.
  • Inspect assigned areas for adherence to methods and procedures.
  • Hold staff accountable for performance, as well as university policies.
  • Walk assigned zone on daily basis, meet with staff to build relationships, critic performance, coach, and mentor staff. Walk buildings to ensure staff is working throughout shift.
  • Ensure Campus Standards are adhered to on a daily basis.
  • Inspect to ensure projects are completed as well as timelines are met.
  • Act as liaison with building coordinators and residents on issues relating to custodial and/or maintenance needs and problems.
  • Review and maintain proper supply inventories and prepare/approve purchase requisitions. Ensure staffs orders are placed on time.
  • Conduct product research. Coach staff on the usage of products and safe practices.
  • Respond to all emails in a timely manner, inspect all buildings weekly, follow up on inspections as task are scheduled. Assist staff when challenges as they present themselves.
  • Control issuance of materials and supplies.
  • Train staff in handling and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials, along with mentoring and coaching staff on safe practices.
  • Oversee conference housing during summer breaks.
  • Represent department on campus committees.
  • Oversee snow removal for assigned areas. Making sure staff is completing their scheduled task for snow removal.
Shift

3:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Must possess a valid driver's license, which will allow legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Grade: GGS-008
