Summary:

The Project Manager will support Energy Transfer's Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity program for processing, treating, and 192/195 Facility piping sites within Energy Transfer utilizing API 570 and API 510. Primary Responsibilities:

* The Project Manager will be responsible for the assurance of fixed pressure equipment integrity within Energy Transfer with a focus on processing, treating, and blending locations. The Project Manager will be challenged daily with the systematic review and assessment of various piping systems, pressure equipment, storage tanks, etc. in their assigned areas of responsibility utilizing API 570 and API 510.

* Ensures that all maintenance, inspection, repairs, re-rates, and alterations made to pressure equipment follow applicable laws, regulations, industry codes, company standards, and recommended practices.

* Review and audit pressure vessel fabrication shops to ensure they meet approved fabrication standards, drawings, and quality control manuals.

* Works closely with corrosion and materials group, pressure equipment engineers, and the operations team to establish inspection schedules, identify corrosion threats, monitor equipment condition, analyze inspection data, document condition history, and make recommendations to ensure safe, reliable operation of pressure equipment.

* The Project Manager supports operations, maintenance, engineering, and project management staff with decisions concerning the integrity of pressure equipment; to meet best practices, industry codes and standards and local jurisdictional requirements.

* Provide first line contact with field supervision, operations and maintenance on technical matters related to the specific technical discipline.

* Communicate inspection schedules, repair deadlines, maintenance due dates, etc. and coordinate activities with Operations and Maintenance staff to ensure inspections/repairs are completed by required dates.

* Participate in 3 Year PSM audits; internal and third-party.

* Participate in EPA, OSHA, and local state regulatory audits.

* Be able to review and formulate inspection plans in accordance with company standards and recognized good engineering practices.

* Required to consider additional factors in recommendations for repair, such as run time to failure, root cause analysis, life cycle cost, etc.

* Use equipment integrity inspection and analysis tools such as API-Risk Based Inspection to determine the extent of required inspections, and overall inspection strategies.

* Identify appropriate inspection and NDE methods to mitigate equipment risk.

* Responsible for the oversight and auditing of NDE and inspection activities in their assigned areas.

* Review and approve NDE and inspection results; be able to identify anomalies and eliminate erroneous data.

* Assure that inspection records are current, accurate and in compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and department requirements.

* Manage inspection data in Shield corrosion monitoring program.

* Budget and oversee on-stream inspection projects.

* Maintain a good working knowledge of codes and requirements and know when to seek higher level advice and assistance.

* Perform API Pressure Vessel, Piping, and Tank inspections as needed, routine or emergency.

* Responds to unplanned events to understand their causes and develops recommendations to prevent their recurrence.

* Support the CFR 192 and 195 Facility Pipe program as needed, include anomaly verification ass required.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

* Minimum eight (8) years of API inspection related experience in plant process equipment.

* Current API 510 and API 570 certification

* Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office software; Word, Excel, Outlook.

* Develop field drafting Isometrics of piping systems.

* Read, interpret, and correct as necessary Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID)

* Must be knowledgeable in mid-stream process, standards, specifications, industry regulatory rules and regulations pertaining to the 29 CFR 1910.119 (j) Process Safety Management

* Experience writing inspection procedures.

* Proven knowledge of relevant API, ASME, ANSI and other applicable codes and specifications.

* ASNT level II training and hours to be certified in ASNT UT, PT, MT

Preferred Qualifications:

* Formal training and highly proficient in Shield corrosion monitoring program.

* Formal training with API-RBI methodologies and software.

* API RP 580 certification

* Current API 653 certification.

* Formal API 579 FFS training.

* 60 hours towards an associate or bachelor's degree.

* Familiar with and able to use Computer Aid Drafting CAD Autodesk

* A strong knowledge base in advanced NDE technologies including guided wave testing, Phased Array ultrasonic testing, time of flight diffraction (TOFD), remote field eddy current testing (RFEC), digital radiography.

* Documented hours to be ASNT level II certifications in ASNT certifications RT (film interpretation)

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.



  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 25% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work at elevated heights and working in small vessel confined spaces openings for extended periods. Regular climbing of equipment structure and scaffold ladders both internal and external.
  • Must be able to drive for extended periods time and distances further than 90 miles.
  • Must have a safe driving record for assigned company vehicle use.
  • A minimum of 30% travel to facilities in the assigned territory and outside the assigned area is to be expected, including but not limited to travel for temporary assignments, meetings, and training.
  • The job may also involve participating on occasional unscheduled callouts and extended workdays and/or workweeks.
  • Position may be subject to applicable U.S. Department of Transportation Drug & Alcohol regulations.
  • The incumbent may be required to learn duties associated with one or more specific areas of the operation depending on the operational need and the employee's demonstrated abilities.
  • Natural gas gathering and processing is an "around the clock" operation and may be subject to hazardous conditions including escaping gas, adverse weather conditions, extreme temperatures, heights, high pressure gas lines, heavy lifting, and cramped conditions.
