Kennedy Jenks is seeking an experienced and collaborative Senior Remediation Engineer for our thriving Remediation and Compliance group to support both our municipal and private sector clients in environmental investigation and remediation projects. In this position, you will be working with a large environmental team consisting of scientists and engineers solving complex environmental problems.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Review and guide staff-developed work plans for site delineation, pilot testing of remedial alternatives.
  • Lead teams to conduct and document remedial action feasibility studies, prepare remedial action plans, design of remediation systems.
  • Oversee staff and project engineers and scientists to develop and evaluate remedial alternatives and options analyses.
  • Work with staff to prepare bid specifications and evaluate contractor bids.
  • Provide senior oversight to teams during construction and operations of the designed treatment technology, monitoring and evaluation of treatment effectiveness, regulatory reporting.
  • Lead development and review of technical documents, reports and designs.
  • Oversee the quality assurance/quality control of deliverables pertaining to projects and tasks self-managed, as well as projects and tasks managed by others.
  • Work well with dynamic project teams and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications


  • BS (MS preferred) in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering
  • Professional registration (PE)
  • At least 10 years (15+ years preferred) of consulting experience, both office and field.
  • Practical experience in developing and evaluating remedial alternatives, completing options analyses; designing, implementing, and overseeing the operation of environmental remediation systems or other remedial options (e.g., bioremediation, In-Situ Chemical Oxidation, etc.); evaluating remedial progress data and adjusting remedial strategies; managing projects or task schedules and budgets; and supervising and mentoring mid and junior-level staff and/or field personnel.
  • Ability to travel to support ongoing environmental projects.
  • Experience in the application of a variety of remedial technologies such as Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE), Air Sparging, Dual Phase Extraction (DPE), in-situ bioremediation, In-Situ Chemical Oxidation, groundwater extraction and treatment, dig and haul, waste disposal/waste characterization
  • Understanding of applicable regulatory frameworks under RCRA and CERCLA, and familiarity with construction techniques for remedial activities.Experience with petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated compounds, metals, PFAS, PCBs, dioxins and furans, and other compounds common to site remediation is expected.
  • Business development and client service management, staff supervision, and industry technical leadership through participation in ITRC and similar local, national, and industry specific organizations is desirable.

Salary range for this position is anticipated to be $130,000 to $185,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
