In the role of Geotechnical Engineer, we'll count on you to:
- Develop geotechnical engineering designs, sketches, plans, specifications and cost estimates for heavy civil infrastructure including, but not limited to, dams, flood walls, levees, flood conveyance systems, streambank protection, tunnels, pipelines and pumping stations, and water/wastewater treatment facility projects
- Lead geotechnical field investigations, including developing scopes of work for drilling and lab testing programs and overseeing field work activities, performing construction observations and overseeing quality assurance testing of dams and other civil works projects
- Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
- Perform geotechnical engineering and pavement design services for TxDOT facilities
- Conduct slope stability, seepage analysis and other geotechnical engineering studies
- Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
- Function as Technical Specialist with opportunities to serve as Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed
- Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of previous experience
- Master of Science Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
- Experience with geotechnical software such as GeoStudio APILE, LPILE, SHAFT, PYWALL, GROUP, USACE software, Plaxis and MSEW
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office applications, MicroStation or other software as appropriate
- Experience with GeoStudio/Ensoft slope stability, settlement, seepage and deep foundation response software, as appropriate
- Experience with Bentley suite of geotechnical data management and visualization software (gINT/OpenGround/LeapFrog)
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
