Patient Care Tech (PCT/HUC): Acute care, Telemetry unit

Unit Description:

3E is a 19 bed telemetry unit, specializing in neurology and medical cardiology patients. The staff on 3E care for patients who come to BHL for our Comprehensive Stoke Care Program and nurses on 3E have additional certifications and training to provide high qualitycare to our Stoke population. Patient are admitted from the ED, ICU or direct admits on this unit.

Shift: Part-time, Days

Job Description:

Nursing Assistant (PCT/HUC):

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Patient Care Tech (PCT/HUC) provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education. (Must provide a letter from school verifying completion of first year clinicals.)
  • Basic Life Support (must be obtained within three months of hire)
