Job Description: Senior Accountant

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing accounts with a focus on bill of pay processes, vendor management system (VMS) fee analysis, and rebate programs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimizing fee structures, and maintaining efficient cash flow through strategic rebate management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Bill of Pay Management:

    • Oversee the preparation, processing, and reconciliation of bills and payments to vendors.
    • Ensure timely and accurate posting of expenses in alignment with company policies.
    • Identify discrepancies and ensure resolution through effective communication with vendors and internal teams.
  2. VMS Fees Analysis:

    • Monitor and analyze Vendor Management System (VMS) fees to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for savings.
    • Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to ensure fee structures are aligned with contracts.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on VMS-related expenses for internal review.
  3. Rebate Management:

    • Track, analyze, and manage rebate programs with key partners and suppliers.
    • Ensure timely accrual, collection, and reconciliation of rebates.
    • Work closely with vendors to negotiate optimal rebate terms.
  4. Financial Reporting & Analysis:

    • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate reporting of VMS fees and rebate accruals.
    • Prepare variance analysis and detailed financial reports related to VMS fees and rebate accounts.
    • Assist in audits by providing documentation and explanations related to these accounts.
  5. Compliance & Process Improvement:

    • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and internal accounting policies.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance processes related to bill payments, fee analysis, and rebate management.
    • Implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy across related functions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with specific exposure to VMS fees, rebates, and bill of pay operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor relationship management.
  • Familiarity with VMS platforms (e.g., Fieldglass, Beeline).

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
