Telecare's Cypress House is a four-bedroom home designed to serve Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) clients who have challenging and complex needs, and would otherwise be at risk for admission to acute and locked settings or out-of-state placements. Cypress House is a Community Crisis Home, a new program model in California, created to serve residents with developmental disabilities and serious mental illness. This dual diagnosis home will offer residents a calm, welcoming environment where they will receive individualized assistance to stabilize the challenging behaviors and other factors preventing them from living in less intensive placements. Working within each individual's strengths and developing skills, you can be a member of a multidisciplinary team which will deliver a full range of person-centered services and behavioral supports to help clients successfully transition or return to their preferred community living option.

Full Time; Monday - Friday

Expected hiring salary wage range starts at $90K annually with a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY
The BCBA will play a critical role in providing behavioral support and oversight within a community crisis home for adults with developmental disabilities. This position requires a dynamic individual who can manage the behavior support needs of residents and provide RBT supervision to a team of staff members working across three shifts: AM, PM, and NOC. The BCBA will ensure that all behavior support plans are effectively implemented and that staff are trained and supervised in line with the standards of the BACB and California regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on functional behavior assessments (FBAs).
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of behavior plans and make necessary adjustments to ensure residents' goals are being met.
  • Conduct crisis interventions and support staff in implementing crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Provide direct supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other direct care staff (between 15-20 staff across AM, PM, and NOC shifts).
  • Conduct regular supervision sessions in compliance with BACB requirements.
  • Train staff on behavior support techniques, data collection, and the implementation of behavior intervention plans.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing feedback and development to ensure the highest quality of care.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations and the requirements of California state laws.
  • Ensure compliance with Title 17 and Title 22 regulations related to staff training and supervision.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including residential administrators, nurses, and therapists, to ensure consistent care and communication.
  • Attend and contribute to Individual Behavior Support Team (IBST) meetings, ensuring that behavioral goals align with the resident's overall objectives.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with family members and other stakeholders regarding behavioral progress and strategies.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of behavioral data to track the effectiveness of interventions and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Ensure that data is accurately documented and shared with the necessary team members.
  • Ensure all staff complete required training and certifications, keeping documentation current.


  • Ensures compliance with Telecare's policies and procedures
  • Helps establishes the vision for the facility
  • Assists in the establishment of the culture of the Program and creates initiatives that reinforce the culture
  • Must assist with restraint of clients in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention training

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Active certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • 2 Years post-graduate experience in applied Behavior Analysis
  • Knowledgeable of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies and curriculum found to benefit adults ages 18 and above with Developmental Disabilities
  • Experience working with regional centers and a multi-disciplinary team in the treatment of adults with developmental disabilities
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be CPR, First Aid and CPI certified on date of employment or within 80 hours of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
  • All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license If the position requires driving, valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, twist, squat, kneel, crawl, climb and lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less as well as to frequently sit, walk, reach, bend and do simple and firm grasping of up to 50 pounds. The position requires manual deviation, repetition and dexterity and to occasionally drive.

Schedule:
This is a full-time position with flexibility required to supervise staff across AM, PM, and NOC shifts.
