Trauma Program Manager

This job manages, coordinates, monitors, promotes, and evaluates all components of the trauma program in collaboration with trauma service, medical, and hospital leadership and employees. Manages all aspects and activities of the trauma program in conjunction with the Trauma Medical Director. Ensures compliance with standards, policies, and requirements of governmental and regulatory agencies to maintain Trauma Center designation.

Education

Required-Associate degree of nursing.

Preferred-Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).

Work Experience

Required-5 years of management/leadership experience.

Preferred-Strong background in emergency, critical care and/or trauma, or managing Hospital Programs.

Certifications

Required-Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.

Hold membership in a national or regional trauma organization

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association

Job Duties

  • Oversees strategic planning and program development directly related to trauma services,

  • injury prevention and outreach within the operating group, and communicates goals and

    objectives clearly with employees.

  • Leads trauma services employees as well as employees from other services across the care continuum, to ensure that patients receive the appropriate levels of care, achieve optimal outcomes, and maintain a high level of employee morale.

  • Ensures all regulatory and accreditation requirements and standards are met.

  • Develops the Trauma Strategic Plan in conjunction with the trauma service and medical leadership in support of the hospital's overall strategic plan.

  • Participates in state and regional level trauma meetings and committees and directs and/or provides community education on an ongoing basis to ensure community awareness of the trauma program and as part of the hospital's prevention strategy.

  • Develops and monitors the trauma quality improvement program in conjunction with trauma service and medical leadership which includes data collection, analysis and trending, and maintenance of the committee structure supporting the program.

  • Serves as an internal resource for employees in all departments and acts as an extended liaison, in consultation with trauma service leadership, for emergency medical service agencies.

  • Plans, coordinates, and implements strategic projects, as directed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
