Debris Monitors are on the front line of clean-up efforts documenting loading and unloading of hurricane debris onto trucks. In anticipation of community needs this hurricane season, we are currently accepting applications from individuals interested in being contacted in the event HDR is called upon for our hurricane recovery services.

As a Debris Monitor, you will work outdoors in hazardous areas and in proximity of heavy machinery such as dump trucks and debris loading equipment. Working hours may range from 10-14+ hours per day, potentially seven days a week. Training and safety equipment will be provided to those who meet qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Ability to accurately observe material loading operations to assess compliance with set material sorting standards. No previous experience in debris monitoring is required, but the ability to work with technology and report-writing skills are strongly preferred.
  • Capable of working outside in a hazardous environment, around heavy equipment and standing on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must have a personal cell phone.
  • Able to secure your own housing.
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Must provide a valid social security card upon hire.
  • Long pants and work boots required (other safety equipment provided by HDR).

Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office product experience
  • General background-related experience
