The MU Student Health Center (SHC) is a unit within the University of Missouri-Columbia's Student Health & Well-Being department under Student Affairs. The Student Health & Well-Being area consist of a network of care that includes the Counseling Center, Student Health Center, Wellness Resource Center and Community Providers. The SHC offers medical care with behavioral health consultation and psychiatry services. As part of Student Health and Well-Being, SHC providers coordinate treatment with counselors at the Counseling Center. We strive to provide:
Job Description
Essential Functions The representative is responsible for greeting patients and visitors, working registration desk, arriving patients, updating demographics, loading insurance, accepting copayments, keying data entry and scheduling appointments. Assist patients checking out after their visit with a provider. Schedule follow up with SHC if needed or referral to an outside provider. Notifies provider when patient has no-showed their appointment and changes the status in scheduling system. Contacts patients whose appointment need to be rescheduled due to change in provider schedule. Collects payment for students needing rabies titers and 2nd STI screen. Manages the after-hours nursing reports. Answers main phone line and helps cover other PSR positions.
Shift
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired. Six (6) months of experience with frontline customer service and guest relations duties and skills. Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a health care setting, hospital admissions, registration, medical office, and use of medical terminology strongly preferred. Anticipated Hiring Range
