Description

The Department of Occupational Therapy at Tufts University has an opening for a full-time lecturer to teach and advise occupational therapy graduate students, beginning September 1, 2025. The candidate should have strong clinical and evidence-based reasoning skills and at least one clear area of OT or relevant practice expertise. The candidate must be able to direct their expertise toward engaging students in scholarship as well as the promotion of activity and participation among diverse populations. The new faculty member will mentor students in their area of professional practice and scholarship.

The Department of Occupational Therapy is a graduate department in the School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts University. The department is a collaborative and close-knit learning community. Faculty, staff, and students use a reflective process to identify and understand occupational performance and well-being to develop inclusive innovative approaches that support meaningful engagement across the lifespan.

Tufts is a teaching and research-intensive R1 university with a rigorous intellectual culture and established ties to the surrounding communities. The school offers students and faculty alike in-depth educational and community-engaged learning experiences and opportunities to explore interdisciplinary approaches to teaching, learning, and scholarship.


Qualifications

Applicants must have a post-professional clinical or research doctorate (e.g., OTD, DPT, EdD, ScD, PhD). For occupational therapists, national certification as an occupational therapist and ability to qualify for Massachusetts state licensure is preferred, though not required. Additionally, applicants should have 5 or more years of practice experience and demonstrated clinical, community, and/or academic teaching experience in their area of expertise.
