Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Provide archaeological services for a broad array of projects and clients. This may include conducting field work, identifying artifacts, laboratory analysis, writing reports, preparing proposals, and consulting with clients and stakeholders.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company.
  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices.
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on all projects. Monitor quality standards and practices.
  • Principal Archaeologist providing guidance and support to projects and people.
  • Oversee project permits, risk, timeline and budget.
  • Senior level scientific professional responsible for leading complex projects requiring innovative investigation techniques.
  • Supervise the analysis and formation of recommendations in written reports and treatment plans.
  • Assist in establishing and updating current policies/ procedures for technical projects in field of expertise, to ensure proper interpretation and implementation by subordinate staff.
  • Provide technical direction and training to less experienced professional staff.
  • Participate in the development of marketing strategies and presentations of qualifications to clients on projects.
  • Mastery of local, state and federal Cultural Resource Management requirements to ensure requirements of each entity are met.
  • Participate as member of the Archaeology practice resource group (PRG).
  • Participate in professional organizations and conferences as a Terracon and industry recognized expert.
  • Pursue new project opportunities as the main contact for clients.
  • Primary Terracon contact with stakeholders, agencies, tribal representatives, and other interested parties.
  • Serves as an Authorized Project Reviewer.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
Requirements:
  • Graduate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field (MA, MS, PhD) and a minimum of 15 years of experience.
  • Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA)
  • Secretary of the Interior (SOI) qualified.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
