Group/Division

The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

KLA Ann Arbor seeks a creative and driven professional for the role of Spares Buyer responsible for spares or after market parts purchase. This person will functionally support the service organization and one or more product families. The buyer works closely with spares planning, engineering, KLA factories to run overall supply plan and address supply challenges and issues. The buyer will also be looking for ways to optimize the spares supply plan by working with spares planning and KLA manufacturing to find opportunities for inventory optimization, while maintaining customer satisfaction.

  • Executes purchasing actions for spares, collaborates with factories on achieving 95% on time spares deliveries; resolves inventory and receipts discrepancies. Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized; supervises delivery schedules and partners with his/her counterparts in finding resolutions for below target inventory position; out of stock critical issues; late deliveries; impacting KLA customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with supply chain specialists to find opportunities for supply chain systems improvements with the goal of increased agility while reducing total cost-of-service and driving efficiencies in the end to end supply chain.

  • Provides expertise for procurement and active role in crafting spare plan and support for new product introductions

  • Identifies and drives continuous improvements with planning, on critical parts

  • Use system and data to implement supply chain management sophisticated problem resolution on new products introductions, cost reduction, value engineering, on time delivery, inventory, excess and no demand and other service supply chain initiatives.

  • Participates in quarterly review of excess and no demand inventory and execution of resulting action items

  • Learns and understands company business requirements, market dynamics and trends, supply base and supply base capabilities for given commodities.

  • Participates in development of predictive analytics to improve service planning operations and executive decision-making around spare parts.

  • * Ensures adherence to company supply chain management standard methodologies, policies, procedures and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or data analytics

  • Bill of materials control experience with semiconductor equipment or medical device equipment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience OR Master's degree and a minimum 0 years of related experience

  • Experience in purchasing and parts/material procurement or planning.

  • Proved ability with solving shortages and supply constraints.

  • Exposure to manufacturing material planning and purchasing.

  • Experience with SAP MRP or other MRP systems.

  • High proficiency in MS Excel.

  • User interface and experience with using Tableau, Power BI or other business intelligence/analytical tools/services desired.

  • Data analytics skills in MS Access or other Data Base are a bonus.

  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills: ability to collect, organize, and analyze data to support demand and supply optimization.

  • Be passionate about continuous process and results improvements.

  • Should enjoy an exciting and fast paced environment.

  • Ability to work well on cross-functional teams. Must be a teammate.
