JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Optometrist, Low Vision REPORTS TO: Sr. Director of Clinical Services STATUS: Part Time, Non-Exempt JOB CLASSIFICATION: Specialist II UNION ELIGIBLE: Yes WORK ARRANGEMENT: On-site, 2-3 days/wk in person, flexible) LOCATION: San Rosa, CA SALARY RANGE: $62.50/hr-$81.25/hr APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open Until Filled Founded in San Francisco in 1902, the LightHouse's purpose is to promote the independence, equality and self-reliance of people who are blind or visually impaired. The LightHouse is currently in a period of growth, increasing our capacity to serve more low-vision and blind clients. *Please note the terms and conditions of this position may be subject to change, once a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement is in place. OVERVIEW: The Low Vision Optometrist provides specialty low vision care to patients who have experienced vision loss, are under the care of a primary eye care professional, and who wish to improve the quality of their daily living through vision rehabilitation. Services include trial frame refraction, contrast sensitivity testing, evaluation of visual fields, prescribing and demonstrating low vision aids, recommending assistive technology, and referring to other specialty rehabilitation services as needed. The low vision optometrist will collaborate with a team of rehabilitation specialists to promote the independence and well-being of our blind and visually impaired patients. QUALIFICATIONS:
