Job Summary

Provides quality services and/or products while focusing on customer satisfaction and safety.

Essential Functions

  • Services, inspects and installs residential gas and electric appliances and equipment to comply with codes and ensure superior service in terms of safety, reliability, customer satisfaction and monetary value.
  • Responds to utility related calls for all customers, locates gas leaks at customer's premise, and takes necessary steps to maintain public and personal safety.
  • Promotes and accepts accountability for providing superior customer satisfaction and selling of Home Service Plus products and services (e.g., Service Plus contracts, options, HSP sales referrals) to customers. Maintains professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Responds to emergency situations to assure the safe delivery of natural gas and to maintain public and personal safety.
  • Demonstrates efficient and productive work practices and identifies or recommends and/or incorporates improved methods to increase productivity working within division procedures and guidelines.
  • Operates and maintains company vehicle in a safe manner, controls parts inventory, and is responsible for tool and equipment condition in order to ensure safe efficient service.
  • Develops, maintains and demonstrates related skill proficiency based on changes in products and/or technology in order to provide service excellence.

Education Description

  • Requires successful completion of a 1 or 2 year, diploma or associate degree program (minimum 2 semesters or 3 quarters) at an accredited educational institution in heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent technical skills.

Experience

Tech B



  • Entry level position
  • Without a technical degree, minimum of 2 years' experience in heating, refrigeration and air conditioning.


Tech A



  • Must have been a Tech B for 6 months


Special Technician



  • Must Have completed at least two years in the "A" Technician classification.
