Additional Job Description: West Virginia University School of Medicine Chair, Department of Urology West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine seeks a new Chair for the Department of Urology in collaboration with West Virginia University Hospitals/University Health Associates. This is an exceptional leadership opportunity for a physician with an unwavering commitment to excellence in clinical care, education, and research. Summary: The Department of Urology is the academic home to all faculty providers of urologic services of West Virginia University (WVU), and WVU Medicine Health System, and the WVU Department of Urology service line with care provided at the academic institution of Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. The Department Chair will be responsible for overseeing the academic mission, strategy, and operations in conjunction with a strong commitment to undergraduate, pre-doctoral, graduate, and interdisciplinary health sciences education. This includes ensuring the delivery of the highest quality of evidence-based care and service, consistency in the quality standards of practice, and maintaining excellence across the academic spectrum enabling scholarly advances in the field. Providing state-of-the-art, comprehensive urologic care to patients throughout West Virginia and its border states, the Department has adult urologic oncology, including minimally invasive and robotic surgery, female pelvic medicine, and reconstructive surgery, as well as reconstructive urology. The Department also has two full-time Pediatric Urologists. It is noteworthy to mention that for each of the last 9 years, WVU's adult Urology program has been recognized as high performing or within the top 50 in US News and World Report annual ranking of hospitals. In each of these years, it is the only Urology department acknowledged in the state of West Virginia. The Department's Pediatric Urology Division has achieved a Top 50 ranking in US News and World Report in each of the last 5 years. Core Duties and Responsibilities: EDUCATIONAL:
