Position Overview:
The Private Banking
Team Lead is responsible for guiding and developing Private Bankers within
their team to deliver exceptional banking experiences that result in long-term,
profitable relationships. This role works collaboratively with other group
managers, particularly Private Banking peers, to drive business development
efforts and align initiatives with Broadway Bank's strategic objectives. This role will support the Austin, Dallas and Houston
markets, along with contiguous counties and additional designated geographic
markets. The role requires active participation in transformation efforts
across the network, ensuring that messaging and actions align with strategic
business goals. The Team Lead is accountable for overseeing business
development tactics, fostering teamwork, and representing Broadway Bank within
the community, projecting the bank as a stable and expanding institution.

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in the analysis, underwriting, and approval of complex and high-value credit relationships to ensure alignment with risk standards and bank objectives.
  • Set and promote accountability for each Banker by establishing and managing goals aligned with Broadway Bank's strategic objectives.
  • Mentor and coach direct reports to foster professional development, growth opportunities, and high-performance achievement within the team.
  • Ensure continuous process improvement and operational efficiency across the Private Banking line of business.
  • Champion a business development culture across all lines of business, including participating in client and prospect calls with Sales, Retail, Middle Market, Business Banking, Mortgage, and Wealth Management teams.
  • Lead the team in delivering excellent client service, maintaining both internal and external relationships through clear communication and the bank's straight-talk philosophy.
  • Organize and conduct regular meetings with direct reports, and actively participate in Line of Business (LOB) meetings to ensure cohesive execution of strategies.
  • Provide recommendations on employment decisions including performance ratings, salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and terminations for team members.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration across the bank's business lines, ensuring alignment with overall bank objectives.
  • Monitor and stay informed about local, state, and federal regulatory changes that impact the banking sector, ensuring compliance.
  • Represent Broadway Bank in community organizations and public relations efforts, enhancing the bank's visibility and brand recognition.
  • Oversee the team's adherence to the annual budget, collaborating with other Department and Division Managers to ensure resource optimization.
  • Actively contribute to committee or task force assignments, playing a key role in driving the bank's continuous growth and innovation.
  • Maintain oversight of day-to-day team activities to ensure the soundness of the bank's assets and the alignment of business practices with risk management principles.
  • This position may require travel within the Bank's geographic area.


Experience & Education:

  • 7+ years of Private Banking experience, specifically in personal and business lending and financial services sales.
  • Demonstrated expertise in relationship-based banking, with a focus on business development and relationship management.
  • Proven ability to manage high-performing teams, including experience at the division level or managing multiple departments, ideally within a matrixed environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited university, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex financial concepts to a diverse audience.
  • High emotional and cultural intelligence, with an ability to engage and manage diverse teams and clients.
  • Talent management expertise, including skills in developing, mentoring, and retaining team members.
  • Strong proficiency with financial and banking technology platforms and banking software.
  • Register and maintain registry as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry and in accordance with the Secure and Fair enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (the S.A.F.E. Act).
  • Meet and maintain financial responsibility, character and general fitness standards along with all other established requirements for an individual Loan Originator in accordance with Regulation Z.
  • Experience in leading business transformation initiatives, with a focus on aligning strategies across various departments to drive business results.

Other Requirements:

  • This role may be staffed from multiple Broadway Bank locations, depending on operational needs.
  • The position requires up to 50% or less travel within Broadway's footprint.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional industry certifications and licenses, as required.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
  • Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
