AVP Media

A Brief Overview
The AVP of Media is the strategic and executional lead for all paid marketing efforts from upper to lower funnel. Tactics include, but are not limited to, linear TV, YouTube and CTV, social, paid search, SEO, affiliate and sports sponsorships. This leader ensures alignment with the creative team to achieve business objectives and maximize media effectiveness. They optimize individual and holistic channel performance to deliver on ROI and brand health goals. A high level of collaboration across the business is required to understand business needs. Responsibilities include strategy planning, marketing spend optimization, performance measurement, and testing. A proven track record in data driven strategy development, team leadership and collaborating with executives are required.

What you will do

  • Strategic Media Leadership:

    • Develop and execute comprehensive media strategies that meet short-term business goals and build long-term brand equity.
    • Build and implement a quarterly media roadmap to optimize the current media mix and explore innovative approaches.
  • Data-Driven Insights & Continuous Improvement:

    • Collaborate with the customer insights and analytics team to analyze channel and campaign effectiveness, driving continuous improvement.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure our media strategies remain cutting-edge and effective.
  • Sponsorship & Local Media Management:

    • Develop and execute strategies that align with marketing goals, enhance brand visibility, and deliver business outcomes.
    • Negotiate local media and sponsorship deals, managing sponsor relationships to maximize value and ROI.
  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of leaders and individual contributors in advertising, social, media, and digital domains.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Agency & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Oversee media agency relationships, driving quarterly business reviews and performance evaluations.
    • Partner with Field Operations, Finance, and Analytics teams to align business needs with media plans.
  • Budget Management:

    • Manage the media and sponsorship budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
    • Monitor budget performance and make adjustments as needed to meet financial targets.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or Economics Required

  • Master's degree or equivalent combination of degree and experience preferred.

Experience Qualifications

  • 10+ years Relevant experience

  • Experience in marketing with both agency and client-side exposure

  • Digital Marketing, Advertising or other related field

  • Experience managing , marketing/advertising teams

Skills and Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Proficient with advertising and analytic tools: Google Analytics, Google Marketing Platform, Tableau, Cognos, Media Mix Models, Multi-touch Attribution.
  • Familiar with advertising landscapes: linear TV, programmatic video and display, online video, paid search, SEO, directory, affiliate, content marketing, social media.
  • Skilled in using word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and related software tools.
  • Understanding of current IT practices, standard office procedures, search engines, marketing and advertising practices, and budget development.

Abilities:

  • Lead and inspire teams, both directly and indirectly.
  • Drive innovative marketing programs that generate measurable results.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to reach data-based conclusions.

  • Apply management principles to practical situations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employees, vendors, clients, and other contacts.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
  • Develop marketing plans and strategies.
  • Understand basic HTML.
  • Lead multiple projects and activities effectively.
  • Present and influence across all organizational levels
