The DNA Learning Center (DNALC) of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory seeks an Finance & Educational Grants Administrator II to join our leadership team. This finance-focused role reports directly to the DNALC Executive Director and collaborates with the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) to oversee financial and grants management, organizational metrics, and operational strategy. The Assistant Director will play a key role in supporting the financial sustainability and growth of DNALC centers across the New York metropolitan area. The successful candidate will join a globally recognized institution driving innovation in genetics education-including molecular genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, and data science. Position Responsibilities

- Manage DNALC financial operations, including tracking income, processing payments, overseeing budgets, and preparing periodic financial reports.
- Collaborate with the Office of Sponsored Programs to facilitate grant submissions, ensure compliance, manage budgets, prepare reports, and oversee grant-related projects.
- Maintain and organize visitation records, generate periodic reports, and contribute to the development of office management software.
- Support DNALC leadership in achieving project management objectives and organizational goals.
- Act as the primary liaison for DNALC collaborators, consultants, vendors, and clients.
- Budgeting Support: Assist in the development and adherence to annual budgets by providing detailed financial analysis and forecasting.
- Cost Management: Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure cost-effective purchasing of food and beverage products and support group purchasing initiatives.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certification or experience in financial management, including budgeting and auditing.
- Demonstrated experience with grant administration and compliance for federally funded programs (e.g., NIH, NSF).
- Strong project management skills and proficiency in relevant tools/software.
- Expertise in financial software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with experience in presenting financial trends and projections.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in grants and contracts administration or a financial/accounting background.
- Familiarity with data visualization and office management tools.
This position can be based at either our DNALC NYC location in Brooklyn or our Cold Spring Harbor location.

The salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
