Primary Responsibilities

The Drinking Water Treatment Business Class (BC) Lead will be an internally and externally facing leader for our Drinking Water (DW) team in the Georgia-Alabama/Mississippi Water Business Group. This role has three (3) primary responsibilities: Lead our group's efforts to achieve our strategic BC initiatives, serve as a technical champion in Drinking Water Treatment; and partner with our team members to grow and deliver our Drinking Water project portfolio. To meet our Drinking Water initiatives, drive growth, and promote innovation, you'll be expected to be a presence in the marketplace (e.g. conferences, professional organizations) and to be an effective partner with our client managers and business development leaders (e.g. proposal development). As a technical champion for your BC, you'll be expected to develop and mentor our young drinking water engineers and EITs, participate in quality reviews, communicate national BC to staff, and serve as a Project Manager on Drinking Water projects for our clients.

This candidate is expected to be an effective partner with the Georgia-Alabama/Mississippi Water Business Group Manager, business development staff, client managers and be adept at engaging HDR's broad resources outside of the area to support our local program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the evaluation, study, and design of water treatment plant projects
  • Existing relationships with clients in Georgia, Alabama, and/or Mississippi
  • Additional experience on wastewater treatment projects is a plus
  • Masters Degree

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
  • 10 years of experience
  • Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience experienced in development and management of diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
