As a Control System Tech II supporting the Control System Engineer/Specialist, you will be trusted to work on installing, modifying, troubleshooting, and improving major systems at our Fort Worth Main Manufacturing in Fort Worth, Texas.

In this role, a typical day will include:



  • Provide daily support for resolving problems related to automation systems supporting office, research, and manufacturing operations.
  • Install and modify automation systems for campus-wide (every building including remote warehouse(s)) control systems including air conditioning control, environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity, pressure, particulate count) and central energy plant chilled water and steam distribution systems.
  • Conduct validation protocols (IQ and OQ) for various automation systems within manufacturing and research environments.
  • Assist with / calibrate devices per SOPs.
  • Assist Control Systems Engineer / Specialist.
  • Implement IQ and OQ protocols.
  • Install, modify, troubleshoot, and improve major systems.
  • Maintain as-built drawings, program, and campus network documentation.
  • Provide maintenance support for all control systems related activities.
  • Provide calibration support.
  • Direct and/or mentor the activities of Control Systems Technician 1's to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets, word processors & associated software, familiarity with engineering processes and practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting and/or configuring industrial controls systems controllers and I/O (Rockwell, Moxa, Opto 22 preferred).
  • Experience troubleshooting and/or configuring supervisory controls (SCADA) systems (Ignition or JACE preferred).
  • Ability to interpret sequences of operation for controls systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot or assist with troubleshooting a wide variety of problems including mechanical equipment problems and control system problems.
  • Must be able to think through problems concisely and logically.



WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 4 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Work hours: 40 hrs (M-F 7:30am-4:30pm)

Preferred Qualification Requirements:



  • Associates Degree - HVAC/Mechanical systems or Information Technology
  • Experience: 3-5 years experience with mechanical or control systems, Johnson Controls Metasys technical, JACE, and BACnet.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC's.
  • Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition.
  • Experience with protocol translation or varied communication protocols.
