Role Summary
The Skilled Trades Workforce Manager will work to actively educate, manage and promote the use and growth of skilled tradespeople on our projects. They will work with safety, quality and field supervision to ensure our skilled tradespeople are properly trained in their craft as well as in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, leadership and technology. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
SKILLED TRADES WORKFORCE MANAGER FAMILY - CORE
* Leads all aspects of the company's safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Investigates safety incidents and retrains staff and needed.
* Manage supply and demand of skilled trades workforce needs.
* Manage both internal and external plan for hiring skilled trades workforce.
* Development of skilled trades workforce- progression through certification and training criteria.
* Partner internally to help manage skilled trades sourcing strategies.
* Allocate hourly labor workforce to projects within office and support regional and national movement of workforce, utilizing internal tools.
* Work with Construction Supervision leadership to chart labor needs over a project duration and maintain communication to meet required labor needs.
* Visit job sites as needed and maintain relationships with project superintendents and project managers.
* Partner with field leadership to establish field staffing for their assigned project.
* Classify and organize skilled trades workforce by skill set and certifications held by the employee.
* Partner to ensure all scheduled training is in place or scheduled.
* Oversee the full life-cycle of employment.
* Provide oversight of new employee orientations, explaining company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees, and/or job applicants for assigned area.
* Assistance with proposal process, providing guidance for skilled trades resources.
* Assist project teams and the Safety Department in investigating all recordable incidents and near-misses. Helps to identify root cause and retrains staff and needed.
* Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn. Understands JE Dunn's policy of non-discrimination and ensures positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.

Education
- High School/GED or equivalent (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred)
- In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered
Experience
- 5+ years construction experience (Required)
- Experience with Lean principles (Preferred)
Working Environment
- Valid and unrestricted drivers license required
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
- Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs
- Normal office environment, but may be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)
