Responsibilities:

Registering RFQ and RFP s from customers in Offers & Orders database and submitting information to transformer plants for proposal preparation.

Conform to the commercial policies of the Transformers business, including cost/price determination, profit requirements, understanding cash flow, understanding contractual terms and conditions, as they relate to policy, as well as LoA and Compliance requirements.

Assist transformer factories with any technical, legal or commercial clarifications, including coordination with internal and/or external technical, legal or commercial resources, customers, consultants, etc.

Prepare final proposal for submittal to customer, including any documentation such as technical data sheets, bids forms, commercial forms, legal forms, bid bonds, etc.

Coordinate proposal submittal with business development and sales team. Track bid results and participate in negotiations and bid modifications as necessary.

Register bid results in Offers & Orders database as well as Salesforce.com. Compile statistics on bid performance, hit rate and market penetration. Prepare reports on proposals as required.

Receive orders from customers and prepare order entry information to transfer to project management and contract administration team. Participate in internal and/or external kickoff meetings as required to facilitate the smooth transfer of orders.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Customer Focus: Ability to anticipate and understand customers needs, be responsive and keep commitments.

Understanding of purchase order contract language and associated legal implications

Have a clear understanding of the sold product (reviews, understands, and insures compliance with required contract documents including commercial and technical specifications, scope, schedule, and performance requirements).

Thorough knowledge of drawing, bills of material, and related technical specification

Good organizational skills to respond to multiple inquiries in a timely and professional manner. SEI GP T NA NP PT Proposal Specialist

This is a position requiring attention to detail with a strong focus on time and task management, capable of handling many orders and tasks in parallel.

The candidate must be quality focused and continually seek better and more efficient ways of improving responsiveness to market needs.

Demonstrated effective written and oral communications skills

Ability to independently function in a changing, high-impact position, with deadline and resource constraints

Identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is not difficult or complex.

Experience with a PC based word processor and spreadsheet required

Some domestic and international travel may be required on an infrequent basis for coordination with manufacturing facilities including occasional visits to factories.

Familiarity with T&D large power transformers desirable.

General Responsibilities:

Participate in review of sales proposals for products and service opportunities to determine proposal feasibility.

Participate in development, editing and writing of original proposal responses and other sales related documents.

Reply to sales inquiries and proposal approval requests in a timely manner.

Analyze geographic territory, customer requirements, and competitive activity to develop sales offers and bids designed to achieve sales goals.

Maintain current knowledge of market conditions and competitors activities critical to the bidding process.

Maintain customer and distributor contact, providing technical product application assistance. Assist sales staff in closing sales.

Education:

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
