Job Description

The University of Missouri is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Assistant Director for Recruitment to help us recruit the next generation of Tigers.
Qualified candidates will be passionate about higher education, excited to lead a team of
Admissions professionals and will bring collaboration, organization and new ideas to the table.
Our Senior Assistant Director for Recruitment manages the operation of the Columbia based recruitment office, including hiring, training and direct supervision of 10 full-time staff. They will provide strong support to their staff in choosing and prioritizing recruitment efforts in travel and recruitment territory management.

Primary duties include:
* Directing undergraduate student recruitment in the Office of Admissions to meet the goals and objectives of the University of Missouri. They will develop, coordinate and execute a comprehensive undergraduate admissions recruitment plan.
* Using historical data, territory data and enrollment information to determine recruitment priorities each cycle and creating plans for travel. This includes utilizing a variety of platforms including College Board, ACT, Technolutions Slate CRM and other vendor systems.
* Serving as an active member of the Admissions Leadership Team, developing strategy for implementation, enhancement and ongoing improvement of short-range and long-term recruitment programs and activities to support university-wide enrollment goals.
* Overseeing the on-campus visit program for prospective Mizzou students and their families. Attending and presenting at events for prospective students, high school counselors and alumni. This position also provides specialized counseling regarding admission and scholarship selection policies.
* The execution of student search strategies designed in close collaboration with the Executive Director of Admissions and the leadership team. They will provide input on pricing, timing, vendor selection, and relevance to enrollment goals while reviewing trends and outcomes data.
* Working with the Admissions team for the development of training materials and overseeing training for new staff regarding Admissions procedures and policies. This position requires an extremely high level of customer service and should foster a positive workplace environment using creative motivational tactics.
* Coordinate with academic departments and help develop recruitment strategies that work best for their department. Serving as a liaison to academic departments and collaborate with campus constituents to set goals, strategies, and promote the office and the University. Maintaining knowledge of appropriate policies, procedures, standards, requirements and statistical data to advise campus stakeholders is required.
* Reviewing applications for admission and scholarships and making independent judgements in line with institutional goals.
* Traveling to markets and representing Mizzou at events for the University of Missouri System and the Southeastern Conference.
The Senior Assistant Director for Recruitment should not be considered an 8am-5pm position. Evening and weekend work with some overnight travel is required. There may be exciting opportunities for nationwide travel as this role evolves.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

- Demonstrated success in the hiring and training of staff.
- Knowledge of higher education and the current undergraduate recruitment landscape
- Familiarity with Slate CRM including queries, reporting and events
- Relevant experience at a comparable four-year, public, flagship institution or extensive knowledge of Mizzou's campus

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000

Grade: GGS-010
