Are you eager to dive into the dynamic world of developmental disabilities and make a real impact? Get ready to take center stage as a Developmental Specialist based out of our May Center for Early Intervention!

Get Ready to Transform: Your Role in Action:



  • Coordinate and ensure the quality of healthcare services provided to individuals served.
  • Provide home visits to address needs and issues related to the family
  • Participate in assessment appointments
  • Support assigned child in fully participating in activities with typical peers in a community group setting
  • Conduct Telehealth as needed
  • Coordinate supports identified by family in child's IFSP.
  • Service as a liaison between family and ancillary providers.
  • Ensure that all paperwork is completed by required timelines.
  • Assist family in the development of their child's IFSP.
  • Monitor status of all functional outcomes and services that are provided.
  • Review and modifies the IFSP as needed and completes necessary paperwork.
  • Review six month evaluations in timely fashion and completes necessary paperwork.
  • Document each interaction with children and/or family on session notes.
  • Maintain records of each assigned child.
  • Assist in transition planning at least six months prior to discharge.
  • Send referral letter to local school system.
  • Monitor child's transition from early intervention to school system.
  • Complete discharge summaries and required paperwork per required timelines.
  • Attend child's IEP meeting, where applicable.
  • Provide developmentally appropriate activities for toddlers that encourage inclusionary interaction with typical peers.
  • Coordinate curriculum with other team members for services within the child's natural environment.
  • Design curriculum to provide education and guidance to families regarding growth and development.
  • Prepare all services and documents in a manner that is culturally and linguistically appropriate and sensitive to family concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all children and their families.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Complete cleaning duties for bleaching toys and equipment after each use.
  • Participate in workshops that are required by DPH and the May Institute.



Your Skills and Talents: A Winning Combination!



  • A bachelor's degree with a major in child development, special education, or early childhood education is required
  • At least 4 approved 3-credit courses that focus on infants and toddlers is required
  • At least 300 hours of practicum or work experience with children under the age of 3 is required
  • Being bilingual is preferred
