Overview


At Defense Technology, we routinely bid and win large military or international contracts to develop, manufacture, and deliver various less lethal products and ammunition. In order to seamlessly execute contracts once they are won, we are seeking a highly skilled individual with experience managing and executing technical contracts. The candidate must be hands-on in every stage of the contract lifecycle, from execution planning to First Article/Lot Acceptance testing through production, with the ability to lead a team to complete contract milestones. Experience with Department of Defense contracts and procurement, Performance Specifications, non-conformances and corrective action plans, and the Engineering Change and Request for Deviation processes are a plus.



Objectives of this role



  • Draft, execute and manage the entire contract lifecycle, from award to close-out


  • Coordinate military testing iterations and the associated planning, documentation, and reporting


  • Perform periodic reviews of the contracts in place and provide resolution services whenever a situation arises
  • Modifying and maintaining equipment and weapon platforms needed to complete testing
  • Handle configuration management for the contract



Responsibilities



  • Draft, monitor and review contracts across various verticals and scales
  • Provide essential contract management services, by resolving conflicts, providing legal advice and renewing and redrafting contracts
  • Supervise the performance of the contract and work towards compliance with the terms and conditions mentioned in it
  • Prepare reports and documentation on the contract performance and run them by the senior contract manager (if any)
  • Update and revise contracts as per the dynamic national legal regulations
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on the status of the contracts



Required skills and qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (science, engineering, or technical) or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Department of Defense (or similar) contract execution
  • Prior experience working as a contract manager or a related job role
  • Ability to track important contract dates and milestones
  • Effectively interfaces with Government or Customer inspectors
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Accuracy and high attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Office software
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Cultivating engagement of workforce



Preferred skills and qualifications



  • Experience with technical project management
  • Experience with test instrumentation, technical specifications, and technical data packages
  • Knowledge of configuration management systems
  • Working knowledge of project management systems or software (MS Project)
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Experience working with Confidential Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Responds to requests from internal departments and makes sure all contracts are drafted and executed promptly and correctly.
  • Develops strong working relationships with colleagues across departments and seniority levels.
