Physician, Pediatric Rheumatology

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics seek a Pediatric Rheumatologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Pediatric Rheumatology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed a pediatric residency program, as well as rheumatology fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in pediatric rheumatology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Our new 150-bed Children's Hospital and Birthing Center has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab, interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes a 34-bed pediatric acute care unit, 54 NICU beds, 31 PICU beds, Heart and Vascular Institute, and a dedicated Cancer Institute. WVU Medicine Children's is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center with plans to become Level 1, as it is currently for adults. The Birthing Center houses a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive MAGNET status for nursing excellence.

The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia's largest health system and the state's largest employer.
