The Position
We advance science so that we all have more time with the people we love. The Translational Medicine (TM) department at Genentech is seeking a highly motivated and innovative scientific leader for our Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) portfolio. The mission of TM is to develop and execute innovative biomarker and diagnostic strategies to drive clinical development through all phases of the portfolio, and conduct foundational disease-oriented translational research to maximize our scientific and clinical impact. The Director is responsible for the scientific, strategic and managerial leadership of the IBD team in Translational Medicine. The Director is leading a team of scientists who provide biomarker and translational research support to the IBD portfolio. The Director is accountable for ensuring that appropriate biomarker strategies are developed, using state of the art technologies, that novel biomarkers are discovered and are fully integrated into clinical plans allowing for maximally informed decision making. In addition, the Director is accountable for the translational research strategy in IBD maximizing the learnings and insights from multi-omics biomarker data in our clinical data sets in support of building foundational models and biomarker and target discovery. Relocation benefits are available for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, California is $184,300- $342,300. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
