Position Summary

Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, the Process Engineering Technician provides support to the process engineers and departments to ensure production goals and productivity improvements are met. This person will provide technical and administrative aid such as data collection, data entry and filing. As a key resource, the Process Engineering Technician will help review existing and new manufacturing equipment and processes. This is a prominent role that promotes a safe environment and supports process improvements related to safety, including environmental and ergonomics. At Parker, you will cultivate a strong culture by participating in High Performance Teams and operating in a LEAN manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions

  • Provide cost reduction and productivity improvements through the support of continuous improvement (value stream) projects such as validating and improving process capabilities, including new part and ECO approvals.
  • Perform A3 root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform PPAP Activities (e.g. P-Maps/Controls/FMEA reviews & updates).
  • Communicate between departments to assist leaders and engineers to trouble shoot and resolve production floor on process through review of documentation.
  • Complete documentation accurately and on time such as reviewing, revising and drafting standard operating procedures, including work instructions, process documents, batch cards.
  • Work cross functionally in designated areas to lead business needs to train operators, supervisors and other employees in new equipment and/or new processes.
  • Support company LEAN and High-Performance team objectives and initiatives to promote company culture such as participation in Starpoint teams and reporting the cost side of data in daily meetings
  • Use appropriate PPE for designated areas across the site including manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship or have U.S. Permanent Resident Status required.
  • GED or High School Diploma required. Associate degree or higher in a technical discipline preferred.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or related experience required, preferably in quality capacity. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and problem-solving tools (e.g. fishbone, 5Why's), Six Sigma Green Belt a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Proficiency in math, reading, writing and computer skills such as multiplication, statistics, and Microsoft Office Suite required. Technical writing experience (SOPs, work instructions, safety documents) a plus.
  • Personal/ Soft skills: Must demonstrate effective verbal and written English communication skills. Strong analytical decision making and organization required.
  • Ability to lift and or move up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable with exposure to chemicals in designated workflow areas.
