Your Role at Baxter:

The Sr. Manager of Procurement Excellence will be a key leader within the Procurement organization, responsible for driving strategic initiatives that enhance procurement operations and deliver best-in-class processes. This role will focus on continuous improvement, process optimization, and the implementation of procurement best practices to ensure operational efficiency, cost savings, and value creation across the organization.

Vantive employees will go through several phases of changes - being spinoff, under TSA, exiting TSA, changing to new systems etc. As such, the successful candidate will need to ensure smooth transitions across these phases by collaborating across cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to drive adoption, minimize resistance, and maximize the benefits of procurement-related changes

What you'll do:

  • Strategic Process Optimization: Lead the development and implementation of procurement policies, processes and procedures that are fit-for-purpose.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions, utilizing Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness in procurement activities. Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to gather feedback, identify areas for improvement, and adjust change management strategies accordingly.

  • Performance Management: Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve procurement performance and impact of change initiatives and training programs. Manage the internal system used to capture savings projects.

  • Change Management: Drive change management efforts within the procurement function, ensuring smooth transitions during the journey to independent operations. Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement plans to ensure that all stakeholders are properly informed and engaged throughout the change management process.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Planning, Finance, Legal and IT, to ensure alignment and integration of procurement processes across the organization.

  • Procurement Academy: Source, coordinate, and drive the delivery of Procurement employee professional development training programs across the function. Collaborate with the internal and external partners to deliver targeted training programs that enable employees to adapt to new processes and technologies.

  • Communications: Develop clear and effective communication plans for Procurement branding both internal and external to articulate the benefits, objectives, and impacts of procurement changes to various stakeholders. Partnering with corporate communications and legal to ensure the Procurement function is compliant with corporate messaging, standards and legal review.

  • Budget: Manage the procurement subscriptions, communication and training budget, including creating and managing budgets, and ensuring that all expenses are properly authorized and accounted for.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, Six Sigma) are a plus.

  • 7 years of experience in process improvement, communication, training, or change management, with a focus on procurement or a related field

  • Proven track record of leading and managing effective communication, training, and change management initiatives within a large, matrixed organization.

  • Strong project management skills, including experience with project planning, execution, and monitoring including Agile and Waterfall methodologies (MS Project and office applications).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with change initiatives.

  • Experience with procurement systems (Coupa, SAP, Oracle) and processes, including contract management and supplier relationship management.

  • Strong knowledge of change management principles and best practices, including ADKAR, Kotter, and Lewin's change models.

  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and performance management.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $136,000 - $170,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and/or long-term incentive.
