Senior HealthData Policy and OperationsAnalyst

LMI is seeking a skilledSenior HealthData Policy and OperationsAnalyst. Position is on the staff of a private, government consulting firmlocatedin Tysons, VA. Work is sponsored by Federal Government departments and agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services. This position may be performed remotelyin the United States.

The successful applicant will become part of a team dedicated to policy, operations, and analytical support work for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS),specifically the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).The primary focus will be completing various data analysis tasks to facilitating compliance,monitoringefforts and, ensuring that programparticipantsarealigned with federal regulations, sub-regulatory guidance, and all other programmatic requirements. However, this position will NOT be involved in direct drafting of policy or in influencing policy decisions made by the government.

Each day may require the candidate to:

Analyze healthcare and compliance data, from multiple data sources and information systems, using spreadsheets or other analytical tools to confirm participant compliance with program requirements
• Lead on specific data analysis tasks, including designing the analytical approach, timeline, and review scope, and mentoring other more junior staff to support the assigned project
• Producea variety ofclient-facingfindings reports,briefings/deliverables, and/orother information summaries, documenting review outcomesand providing recommended next steps in a manner that is easily understood and interpreted by non-technical stakeholders
• Maintain and provide expertise on analytic and data visualization approaches, especially how best to deploy Excel for data analyses and client reporting
• Develop andmaintainoperational plans,guidance documents, instructions, and standard operating proceduresas well as public-facing and CMS-internal documents to support program operations
• Solve complex challenges in a timely and appropriate manner with attention to quality
• Respond to internal and external questions and inquiries on assigned tasks and projects
• Contribute to, and participate in, group meetings with clients and stakeholders

MINIMUM:

• Bachelor's degree in health policy, health systems management, public policy, public health, public administration, business management (with an analytical focus) or related discipline.
• 3-4 years' experience in data analysis and reporting.
• Intermediate to expert level knowledge of at least one analytical and data visualization (Excel strongly preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), particularly Excel and in using Microsoft Office programs to produce concise and actionable data summaries.
• Superior communication and writing skills.
• Ability to multi-task between complex projects during seasonal peak periods.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to absorb large amounts of new technical and policy knowledge with minimal guidance.

DESIRED SKILLS AND BACKGROUND:

• Master's degree in health policy, health systems management, public policy, public health, public administration, business management (with an analytical focus) or related discipline.
• 1-2 years' experience in federal consulting or other healthcare consulting performing in a client-facing role.
• Experience working on HHS or CMS projects.
• Ability to absorb large amounts of new technical and policy knowledge without a lot of guidance.
• Ability to work collaboratively and iterate products with a variety of stakeholders under tight timelines.
• Ability to advocate for technical platforms to augment analytical processes and deliverables, including input into IT business requirements.
• Understanding of federal healthcare programs and policies.
• Willingness to take on task streams in a leadership capacity.
