Job Description
Strongly preferred: Classroom teaching experience and EKG/Cardiac experience The Clinical Educator - Point of Care serves as the point of care or designated unit educator for new employee orientation and facilitates annual team member development through formal and informal in-services and training programs. The role supports the development of bedside clinical team members and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidence-based nursing practice. This position collaborates with the clinical education team to provide computer orientation and retraining as deemed necessary. This position facilitates quality reports to assure proper documentation and follow-through are being met. The position follows and teaches the established nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. This position ensures adherence to hospital or department policies, and nursing procedures, standards, and practices. The role functions to assure nursing practices are aligned systemically with evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance. The position participates in planning and implementing initiatives aimed at improving clinical quality outcomes and achieving departmental annual goals. In alignment with the BHC system goals, this role plays a key role in driving improvements in quality and service with a focus on improvement of departmental retention rates, HCAHPS scores, and Hospital-Acquired Condition rates. In collaboration with other certified clinicians serves as the clinical subject matter expert and internal consultant to leadership assuring that professional standards of practice in the clinical area are integrated into decision-making, operations, and practice. The role serves as an educator, leader, change agent, and researcher. Responsibilities
