POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Laboratory Assistant performs pre-analytical processes associated with collection and processing of laboratory specimens. Demonstrates a commitment to client experience, quality, and safety. Applies knowledge of laboratory operations to assist clients in utilizing laboratory services. Complies with all laboratory and safety policies. Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork are essential. May be moved amongst laboratory locations as needed.

EDUCATION:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • Phlebotomy training course


EXPERIENCE:



  • 6+ months phlebotomy experience


LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:



  • Current drivers license
  • ACLS certification, preferred
  • PALS certification, preferred


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:



  • Basic reading and writing skills.
  • keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills required
