As part of a diverse and hardworking team of technicians and engineers, you will be installing, troubleshooting, repairing and verifying health on a multitude of sensor types for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of sensor installations, driving process improvements and tests involving those installations, enabling Blue's mission of putting millions of people into space.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assembly, test, installation, modification, and repair of production assemblies in preparation for flight and/or ground testing.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Support vehicle/launch operations installation of open-ended harnesses by performing field installations/repairs
  • Perform mate/de-mate, cleaning, inspection, length/breakout measuring, reassembly of harnesses and sub-systems
  • Installation of sensors such as: thermocouple, strain gauges (fiber optic and foil), general electrical testing/verification, accelerometers, heat and mass flow sensors, etc.
  • Proof of concept installs and tests, including recording results and methods used for analysis and process specification definition.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience with instrumentation related fields, aerospace applications desired but other equivalent environments will be considered (automotive, nuclear, oil/gas, industrial)
  • Experience troubleshooting instrumentation systems from sensor end to data integrity
  • Experience with cable harness assemblies and integration of launch vehicles/systems across various launch vehicle subsystems including power, signal, fiber optic, and high data rate cables
  • Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced diverse team environment with constantly evolving roles and responsibilities
  • Dexterity of movement for performing installations in tight or high (but safe) environments
  • A demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams of diverse skills
  • Attention to detail and mind for safety
  • Educational Requirement: HS graduate
  • Ability to support all shifts as needed (regular hours Mon-Fri will be usual)
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to gain access to Kennedy Space Center

Desired:

  • Extensive instrumentation experience
  • Data acquisition experience
  • Soldering and harness building
  • Theory of operation behind strain, temperature, pressure and load cell instruments.
  • Associates degree in any electrical field
