Speech Pathologist lll Otolaryngology - Pediatric Head and Neck Surgery Full Time 76708BR Job Summary The Senior Staff Speech Language Pathologist, the Speech Language Pathologist 3, reports to the Rehab Service Manager and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The Senior Speech Language Pathologist 3 works primarily with pediatric and adult/geriatric patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. The Senior Speech Language Pathologist III demonstrates a solid knowledge base within a wide range of diagnoses that may impact voice, swallowing and upper airway in the pediatric and adult setting. Under general supervision and within a specific therapy discipline, the Senior Speech Language Pathologist 3 independently performs complex patient evaluations and therapeutic interventions; serves as a mentor to staff and consultant to other medical professionals in patient evaluations, therapeutic intervention planning or therapeutic intervention requiring discipline specific skills. The Senior Speech Language Pathologist 3 makes recommendations in patient care procedures, protocols or programs related to the discipline specific areas, and instructs therapists and other medical professionals in the theory, application and/or performance of discipline specific skills. While performing job duties, the Senior Speech Language Pathologist 3 may also supervise support personnel, SLP students as well SLP Clinical Fellows. The Senior Speech Language Pathologist 3 actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, clinical education programs, and in-services and staff development activities.
