Overview BLOOD COLLECTION TECHNICIAN (Full-Time) Dagsboro Donor Center - Dagsboro, DE In 1954, the Blood Bank of Delmarva was established in the Delmarva region as a private, not for profit agency to collect, test, and distribute blood products. Today, the Blood Bank of Delmarva is a division of New York Blood Center and is among the nation's premium providers of blood products and services and an integral part of the Delmarva community's health care system. As of October 2019, the Blood Bank of Delmarva employs approximately 175 full- and part-time employees. Our employees are committed to the Blood Center's mission of providing a safe and adequate blood for patients within our community. No medical experience needed! Sunday: Closed Responsibilities The Blood Collection Technician I reports to the Manager, Donor Services and is responsible for performing whole blood collection procedures and allied activities in the donor room in accordance with BBD guidelines. We train individuals that are naturally welcoming and committed to carrying out our mission by providing excellent customer service to our donors. BBD encourages work-life balance for all our staff and look forward to adding individuals who want to be in a healthcare role to the team! This position is considered "essential" during severe weather or emergency operation events.
Prepares for donor interviews and blood collection by ensuring that interview materials and phlebotomy equipment and supplies are set up and/or operable in keeping with QC standards.
