Description

Responsible for a variety of tasks related to the greeting, registration, pre-registration, and financial counseling of hospital patients. This includes, but is not limited to, obtaining patient demographics, insurance information, insurance verification and authorization, explanation of various hospital forms and policies, discussions on financial responsibility, first-level financial counseling, collection of monies due by the patient at the time of service, and initiation of the proper episode of care.

Required Qualifications:



  • Computer and/or data entry experience..


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Coursework/Training - College education in medical office, medical information or related medical business field.
  • 2 years - Hospital or medical business office functions, medical terminology.
  • Medical insurance and third party payer requirements.
  • Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience using web-based software.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Financial Counseling experience.
  • Insurance billing and authorization experience.
