Job Summary

Help ensure a safe environment for all of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors as a Police Officer.

Perform general duty police work for the benefit of Tulsa Community College students, faculty, staff, visitors and property. Responsible for enforcement of pertinent college regulations and federal and state laws, which may occasionally involve considerable physical danger and always requires knowledge of practices and procedures of modern police work.

This is a Safety Sensitive position pursuant to Oklahoma Statute OKLA. STAT. tit. 63, * 427.8 (2020).


Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age.

An Oklahoma Council Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) Peace Officer certification, or be a graduate of the Collegiate Officer Program (COP).

A current CLEET Reserve Peace Officer certification.

Three-(3) years of law enforcement experience, performing calls for service or street duty (patrol experience) while employed by a CLEET certified agency.

Must be able to travel and work on various campuses and other locations.

Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License which has not been suspended or revoked in the past five years and no more than 3 or more hazardous moving violations in the past three years.

Must not currently be under an Internal Affairs Investigation from any duly recognized law enforcement agency for any reason.

Must not have been convicted of domestic abuse.

Must successfully pass a Polygraph Examination.

Must successfully pass the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) and/or CPI (California Psychological Inventory) test.

Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Able to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Have highly principled ethics and moral character.

If military service must have Honorable discharge.

Must successfully complete a physical assessment test, written examination, and appear before an oral interview board.

Submit to and successfully pass a rigorous background investigation.

If reserve certified, must be able to pass and complete the bridge academy.

Ability to perform all aspects of Community Policing.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.


Preferred Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of modern criminal law procedures and laws of arrest.
