Compensation: $67,000-$73,000

Location: Manhattan, Kansas (onsite) - This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work environments

We're looking for a Senior Staff Accountant plays a vital role in managing donor and campus funds. From creating/exporting custom financial reporting to ensuring the accuracy of deposits, your work will directly support our mission of changing lives through K-State. This role is perfect for detail-oriented professionals who thrive in collaborative environments and seek innovative ways to improve processes.

A day in the life of the a Senior Staff Accountant could be:

  • Provide custom transaction, fund balances, and export financial reports for colleagues, campus partners, and external agencies. Assist in preparing year-end scholarship reviews and balances for awarding.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, process credit card transactions, and provide yearly accounting data.
  • Set up and review funds, track Faculty of Distinction funds certification, and support compliance efforts.
  • Review/approve cashier operations, life insurance processing, and ensure deposit verification and reconciliations are performed timely and accurately.
  • Add, verify, or delete users in the Foundation Information Network (FIN) in collaborate with IT and alumni teams. Train users on reports available in the system.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years professional accounting experience
  • Understanding of financial statement preparation under GAAP
  • Reconciliation experience
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving record

  • Maintain or prepare organizational financial reports
