The main campus is located in the historic village of Kingston, and the Bay Campus is located in Narragansett. Both campuses are near major beaches in a beautiful coastal community. URI is just 30 minutes from Providence, RI and within easy reach of Newport, Boston, and New York City. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ BASIC FUNCTION: Provide independent clinical care, assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic conditions within the scope of Student Health Services and Rhode Island General Laws, Chapter 5-34, in collaboration with other licensed health care professionals. Duties and Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform comprehensive physical examinations and develop holistic care plans. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, independently prescribing and administering medications and therapeutics within written protocol. Maintain accurate, auditable clinical records. Refer patients to specialists and conduct follow-up. Consult and collaborate with physicians, particularly on complex cases, and initiate emergency treatment as needed. Participate in developing clinical protocols, quality improvement, and peer review. Provide health promotion and wellness counseling. SCHEDULE AND STATUS: This is a part-time, non-benefited position of up to 19 hours per week. The Medical Director sets days and hours based on clinical coverage needs. A non-standard work week may be required. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Current Rhode Island Registered Nurse license; Rhode Island Registered Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive privileges; Federal DEA registration; and CPR certification. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The incumbent is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
