The BNSF Railway'sTransportation Departmentplays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and safe movement of goods across one of North America's largest freight rail transportation networks. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in implementing policy and the execution of the operating plan. Supervise TY&E employees and plan daily train and switching operations consistent with safety and efficiency. Conduct operations tests and safety meetings. Investigate accidents and injuries. Monitor and control costs to meet goals. Insure compliance with BNSF's equal employment policies, safety and operating rules, schedule agreements, and government regulations. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Must be currently certified as a BNSF First Line Supervisor. Must possess a working knowledge of operating rules and schedule agreements applicable to the TY&E crafts. Must possess leadership and organizational skills as well as excellent working knowledge of day-to-day railroad operations and practices. Must possess strong TSS Xpress system knowledge. Position requires a motivated, self-directed individual with excellent organizational skills and a strong work ethic. Position will require shift, holiday, and weekend work PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior terminal and/or road operations experience is preferable. Designated Supervisor Locomotive Engineer (DSLE) certification preferred. Supervisory experience is preferred. Knowledge of federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, FRA, and EEO) is preferred.
