Overview

Responsible for delivering complex technology projects that align with enterprise IT strategy and compliance requirements. Leads cross-functional technical teams and manages vendor relationships to ensure successful execution. Applies advanced project management methodologies to manage risk, track performance, and ensure delivery quality. Mentors junior project managers and contributes to the improvement of project delivery tools and frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex technical projects that deliver enterprise-scale solutions and support strategic technology initiatives
  • Develop and execute project roadmaps, schedules, and resource plans aligned with technical and business goals
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project alignment with architecture, engineering, and delivery expectations
  • Apply technical project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, SAFe, SDLC) and governance practices to ensure consistent execution
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, issues, and interdependencies across workstreams
  • Work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure technical feasibility and solution integrity
  • Provide project updates and performance metrics to stakeholders and leadership
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security policies, and governance standards
  • Act as a point of escalation for technical delivery challenges and facilitate resolution
  • Mentor technical project managers and junior team members to build delivery capability and technical proficiency
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with enabling functions to support business readiness and operational alignment
  • Support initiative planning and contribute to project prioritization and resource planning
  • Represent technical project management in cross-functional and technical planning forums
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant project management experience, managing technical cross-functional business projects.
  • 2+ years of experience leading cross-functional technical projects
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, SAFe, SDLC, ITIL) and their application in enterprise IT environments
  • Significant experience in delivering complex IT projects involving infrastructure, cybersecurity, or regulatory compliance
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage vendor relationships, and ensure alignment with business and technical requirements
  • Advanced skills in project analytics, reporting, and performance tracking using tools such as Jira, Power BI, and ServiceNow
  • Expert knowledge of IT systems, architecture, and compliance frameworks, with the ability to communicate risks and strategies to leadership
  • Experience with managing stakeholder engagement and change initiatives across technical and business domains
  • Strong ability to drive project execution while balancing competing priorities and resource constraints
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Professional Certifications (e.g., CAPM, CSM, PMP, PMI- ACP, PgMP, SAFe Practitioner, ITIL, or Cloud (AWS/Azure) certifications).
  • Experience with enterprise portfolio planning and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with financial services operating models, including brokerage, registered investment advisory (RIA), and/or financial planning environments, with the ability to apply that understanding to Navy Federal Financial Group's integrated service model.
