Job Description

Compensation: $15.50 - $23.25 (dependent on experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Incentives: 5% Shift Differential + Quarterly Incentive Bonus + Overtime Opportunities


PURPOSE:

Under limited supervision inspects wax patterns and soluble cores for conformance to specifications following established methods and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Work from inspection procedures, specifications, photographs and/or instructions to visually inspect and check wax patterns and soluble cores for surface finish and smoothness, blending of features, flash, non-fills, air bubbles, core pulls, holes and cracks.
  • Performs dimensional checks using various precision measuring instruments; including micrometers, venires, and scale as required.
  • Perform necessary repairs and reject patterns or soluble cores requiring rework stating reason for rejection. Maintain required inspection records.
  • Detect and report defective parts or unusual conditions to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Perform a variety of other duties and tasks of equal or less complexity as assigned by supervisor.
  • Satisfies wax repairer "B" job qualifications.
  • Consistently exceeds production standards while meeting acceptable quality standards.
  • Must be able to perform quality evaluations on patterns and soluble cores demonstrating approved techniques, and by visual and dimensional examination, determine whether patterns are of acceptable quality. Demonstrate ability to repair, rework and rebuild wax patterns and soluble cores to specifications

SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Manually repair wax patterns following established methods and procedures. Requires the use of some judgment to make routine repair to surface features of a wide range of wax patterns, perform work effectively.
  • Uses small hand tools to repair and measure individual patterns, manipulating as necessary. Lifts/moves material weighing 5 to 25 lbs.
  • Continuous mental or visual attention in visually checking patterns for surface flaws, making repairs. Duties involve constant alertness and activity.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to wax lead person and wax supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Able to read, write, count, comply with instructions and established routines. Follows written/verbal instructions. May work from sketches. Interprets calipers, micrometers, Federal gauges and fixtures.
  • 1 year experience.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $15.50 to $23.25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays annually, consisting of 8 fixed holidays and 2 floating holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
