JOB SUMMARY

Support daily operational activities within ARC facilities, including the warehouse. Basic facility and equipment maintenance, work order management, and equipment inventory as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required
  • Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience

  • 1 year of experience in laboratory animal setting, or one year maintenance experience.
  • Licenses and Certifications

  • (DRIVERS) DRIVERS LICENSE - Work requires the ability to maintain a valid Texas drivers license and the ability to operate state vehicles.

JOB DUTIES
  • Carry out maintenance tasks across multiple ARC buildings to ensure all facilities remain in proper working order and good condition.
  • Adheres to all standard operating procedures and complete required UTSW compliance training promptly.
  • Supports accreditation efforts for the animal care program by following applicable regulations and institutional policies.
  • Performs diagnostic and repair maintenance on holding racks, blower systems and other equipment to verify proper functionality.
  • Supports area shift coverage, after hours or extended projects as needed and assist in maintenance repairs.
  • Initiates facility service requests as needed and assist with maintenance activities or projects in collaboration with Facilities Management. Act as the primary point of contact for related work orders, ensuring clear and consistent communication across teams. Maintain proper documentation as required.
  • Assists with developing and implementing training materials for various departments as needed.
  • Assists with ordering parts, vendor management, and maintaining work order system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Salary Information

Salary is commensurate with education, skills, and relevant experience.
