About the Department
Enterprise Application Services ( EAS) is in the Office of Information Technology ( OIT) division at North Carolina State University. EAS is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, enhancement & maintenance of the University's enterprise business applications and underlying databases. This includes: development, operation & maintenance of all enterprise administrative systems (Document Management, Enterprise Analytics, Financials, HR, Identity & Access Management, MyPack Portal, Non-Credit Registration, Research Administration, and Student Information Systems, etc.), configuration management, maintenance, enhancements, database administration, and application integration.

Essential Job Duties
As a Senior Analyst/Project Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing NC State University's complex PeopleSoft Student Information System. You will lead and contribute to enterprise application development projects, translating complex business and technical requirements into effective solutions that support critical student services across Admissions, Student Records, Advisement, Student Financials, and Financial Aid.

  • Serving as a senior member of a team of analysts and/or programmers to maintain our Student Information System (SIS) within a technically complex environment.
  • Working with the IT Director and Managers, Team Members, and Functional Offices in order to design, build, and implement moderate to advanced enterprise application development projects at NC State University with minimal supervision.
  • Interpreting highly complex business processes and technological functions to develop specifications and provide input to management and customers on the appropriate resource and technology for automated solutions.
  • Designing and executing regression testing, performance testing and quality assurance testing in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Serving as a project manager/analyst on the Student Information System Applications Development Team across all modules including Student Admissions, Student Records, Advisement, Student Financials, and Financial Aid.
  • Researching and keeping abreast of new technologies to evaluate feasibility for organizational needs.
  • Possessing a strong understanding of the PeopleSoft Student Information System.




Key Responsibilities:


  • Serve as a senior member of the Student Information System (SIS) Applications Development Team, maintaining and enhancing enterprise applications within a technically complex environment.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership, team members, and functional offices to design, build, and implement moderate to advanced enterprise application development projects with minimal supervision.
  • Interpreting highly complex business processes and technological functions to develop specifications and recommend appropriate resources and technologies for automated solutions.
  • Serve as a project manager/analyst across SIS modules, including Student Admissions, Student Records, Advisement, Student Financials, and Financial Aid.
  • Design and execute regression, performance, and quality assurance testing to ensure application functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Research emerging technologies and evaluate their feasibility and potential application to organizational needs.

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience
Master's degree and at least two years' of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree with at least three years' of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
Other Required Qualifications

  • Ability to independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system problems that may affect a large number of customers.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements and system knowledge into practical, timely, and effective technology solutions, with a strong customer service focus.
  • Thorough understanding of the application development life cycle, including analysis, development, testing, documentation, approval, and post-migration validation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with team members, customers, and management.
  • Attention to detail when analyzing system issues, developing solutions, and supporting application implementation and maintenance.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in ERP system development or analysis, particularly PeopleSoft.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
  • Proficiency with Oracle SQL.
