DESCRIPTION

The DATABASE ADMIN 3 for heart failure is responsible for building the infrastructure for the clinical database for Get With The Guidelines heart failure registry, interfacing with IT to build automated abstraction tools, interface with external vendors and the AHA, audit charts and work with faculty and house staff to correct coding errors; to serve on heart failure committees addressing length of stay, guideline medication implementation, patient education, and follow up appointments. identify areas for QI and design and implement QI projects based on the data generated.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in biological science, computational / programming, or related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in GWTG (Get With The Guidelines) or experience in heart failure.

  • Working knowledge of database management systems and standards.

  • Knowledge relating to database system design.

  • Advanced database querying and modeling skills working with moderately complex databases.

  • Knowledge relating to capacity planning and interface specifications.

  • Knowledgeable about professional approaches and relevant standards and technology for management of unstructured data such as text and images.

  • Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making; problem identification and resolution; identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance through application configuration and programming techniques.

  • Has effective written / verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrates reasoning and ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.

  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, service orientation, active listening, effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.

  • Able to multi-task and prioritize tasks.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $90,600 - $166,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $43.39 - $79.69

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
