Job Description

As a member of the Equipment Engineering Service team at Tower Semiconductor in Newport Beach, CA, you will be responsible for cleaning and rebuilding PM assemblies for multiple HIVAC toolsets, performing routine system maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing equipment under PM, and managing repair parts for all engineering departments. Repair parts management includes vendor quotation, RMA logistics, PR/PO creation, shipping, receiving, and tracking of repair parts across all engineering departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (may include some of the following):

Perform assembly cleaning/rebuild, routine maintenance, and servicing of HIVAC toolsets - Implant, Endura Metal/CVD, Centura EPI, IBD, and RTP

Manage engineering department parts repair processes, including vendor quotation, RMA logistics, PR/PO creation, shipping, receiving, and tracking of repair parts for all departments

Demonstrate competency in the use of test equipment, including test meters, hand tools, and power tools

Learn tool operation and navigate control screens effectively

Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair on all PM assemblies

Exhibit excellent customer interfacing and communication skills

Collaborate with vendors, Senior Technicians, and Engineers to perform scheduled and unscheduled major equipment preventive maintenance

Develop the ability to repair vacuum leak PM assemblies using Helium Leak Detectors once sufficiently trained

Adhere to maintenance and safety procedures

Participate in ERT/Safety events involving pumps

Train and become familiar with multiple semiconductor production equipment

Operate daily routines with minimal management supervision

  • Consistently demonstrate high-quality work.
  • Collaborate with Production, Process, Facility, Shipping, Receiving, Procurement, and other support functions to identify and resolve equipment issues or parts under repair, providing technical guidance as needed.
  • Carry no direct management or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Work within a fab and sub-fab clean-room environment.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of electro-mechanical systems operation and maintenance.
  • Be capable of working with hand tools and a multimeter.
Job Requirements

Must Have:

  • High school diploma OR Associate of Science degree in progress is preferred. (Military or Trade School with an emphasis in electronics/mechanical equivalent may substitute for AS degree)
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits, along with strong mechanical aptitude, is required.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Must be able to lift 70 lbs or more to handle components during assembly rebuilds and preventive maintenance tasks.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience in the semiconductor industry is preferred but not required.

Compensation:

$17 - 21/hr
