General Responsibilities: Conduct building environmental science assessments and investigations to identify, evaluate, and manage environmental risks affecting facilities, occupants, regulatory compliance, and construction activities. Plan and execute project tasks, interpret technical data, and prepare reports while delivering high-quality client service and maintaining Terracon's safety culture.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities
- Perform asbestos, lead paint, PCB, and other hazardous building materials surveys.
- Conduct mold, moisture intrusion, indoor air quality (IAQ), and indoor environmental quality (IEQ) assessments.
- Collect environmental samples including dust and bulk materials.
- Evaluate field and laboratory data to identify environmental risks and recommendations.
- Perform construction-phase environmental monitoring and abatement oversight.
Project Management Responsibilities
- Coordinate field activities with clients, contractors, laboratories, and subcontractors.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and task completion.
- Maintain project documentation and regulatory records.
- Support proposal development and scope preparation.
- Execute projects in accordance with Terracon quality standards.
Client Development Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Communicate project findings and recommendations effectively.
- Participate in client meetings and site visits.
- Identify opportunities for additional BES and Terracon services.
- Support business development and proposal efforts.
Safety & Quality Responsibilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
- 3 - 5 years of environmental consulting experience.
- Experience with hazardous building materials, IAQ/IEQ, mold, moisture, or related BES services preferred.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Relevant certifications such as AHERA Inspector, Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor, or OSHA training preferred
