Position Summary

The machine operator l role is responsible for basic machine operation with little to no automation and performing changeovers requiring minimal use of tools. Read production orders to verify quality standards for quantities and labeling. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, First Piece Article Inspection, complete scrap paperwork and reporting as well as other quality duties as needed.

Position carries an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Make machine adjustments as necessary to produce products that meet company specifications.
  • Request raw materials to the line as needed.
  • Make sure all materials are loaded into the machine in a quick, efficient manner so that downtime is limited.
  • Count and record rejected products and scrap material.
  • Keep work area clean, free from debris and compliant with 5S markings.
  • Clean machinery and work area at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure that all personnel are following plant safety guidelines.
  • Complete production reports.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • HS Degree or GED
  • Minimal years of manufacturing experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to pass a tape measure teste

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to lift up to approximately 35 pounds
  • Must be able to stand at workstation for a long period of time
  • Must be able to use both hands in a repetitive motion
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes and dust particles
  • Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $19.5/hr to $23.81/hr
