Purpose of the job

The Behavioral Health Supervisor provides clinical leadership, supervision, and operational support for Prosano's integrated behavioral health services model across assigned Health Care Centers. This role supports the successful implementation and ongoing effectiveness of the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) by overseeing and developing Behavioral Health Managers (BHMs), ensuring high-quality patient care, promoting clinical best practices, and supporting team performance and professional growth.

The Behavioral Health Supervisor in addition to clinical leadership provides guidance to therapists engaged in the assessment and treatment of patients experiencing behavioral health conditions commonly encountered in the primary care setting, including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, grief, stress-related concerns, and other behavioral health needs. The supervisor collaborates with providers and care teams to support evidence-based, patient-centered care and ensure compliance with organizational, professional, and regulatory standards.

This position is a core member of Prosano's integrated care team, partnering closely with primary care providers (PCPs), psychiatric consultants, Behavioral Health Managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize behavioral health services. The Behavioral Health Supervisor may also provide direct patient care, both in person and virtually, as needed to support patient access, continuity of care, and operational needs across Prosano Health Care Centers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Work Experience

* 3 years of clinical experience providing behavioral health care,

1. Required Education

  • Master's degree in clinical behavioral health field, such as social work, counseling, psychology

2. Required Licenses

  • Hold an active, unrestricted Arizona independent license with Clinical Supervisor designation with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE) in one of the following:
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC)
  • Licensed Psychologist
  • Active Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

3. Required Certifications

1. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire

2. Required Clinic Protocols

  • Completion of N95 Mask Fit Testing within 30 days of hire.

ESSENTIAL job functions AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring, and operational oversight to Behavioral Health Managers (BHMs), Associate Counselors, and other assigned behavioral health staff.
  • Ensure clinical supervision requirements are met in accordance with Arizona licensing regulations and organizational standards.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development activities to support staff growth and engagement.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and patient-centered care.
  • Monitor team performance, productivity, quality metrics, documentation standards, and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clinic leadership, primary care providers, and support staff to enhance integrated behavioral health services, patient access, and the overall patient experience.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities that improve clinical effectiveness, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for behavioral health services delivered within the primary care setting.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and retention of behavioral health staff.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings and provide guidance regarding complex patient cases.
  • Support implementation and ongoing success of the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) across assigned Prosano Health Care Centers.
  • Coordinate with psychiatric consultants and primary care providers to support evidence-based treatment planning and population health management.
  • Review and monitor clinical documentation to ensure compliance with organizational policies, payer requirements, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support patient experience initiatives and facilitate resolution of escalated patient or member concerns related to behavioral health services.
  • Ensure staff understands and performs essential job functions in support of departmental goals, quality measures, and organizational performance objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, brief intervention, care planning, and treatment, as needed to support patient access and operational needs.
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and utilize validated screening and measurement-based care tools to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Deliver brief, evidence-based interventions appropriate for the primary care setting, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and other approved treatment modalities.
  • Develop, monitor, and modify individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Facilitate referrals and care coordination with specialty behavioral health providers, community resources, and other services when clinically indicated.
  • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, interventions, outcomes, and recommendations in the electronic medical record.
  • The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours perweek. Working hours may include extended hours.
